Station 4 Station 5 Station 6 6361 Chicago Rd. 29900 Hoover Rd. 3090 Twelve Mile Rd Each fire station houses an advanced life support ambulance, called a Squad, equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and medications to provide medical care and transportation of sick or injured individuals to hospitals around the county. Each Squad also carries various hand tools, fire extinguishers, and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBAs) to support firefighting operations. Stations 2, 3, 5, and 6 house a fire engine. Each engine carries fire hoses, ground ladders, hand tools, and a water tank for fire suppression operations. Each engine is also a licensed paramedic apparatus, holding the same state-of-the-art medical equipment and medications to provide medical care to sick or injured individuals. Located at Station 1 is Quint 1. Quint 1 holds the same equipment as the engines with the addition of a 75-foot areal ladder and extrication equipment. Extrication tools, commonly referred to as “The Jaws of Life,” are used to gain access to patients after car accidents. Located at station 4 is Truck 4 and Rescue 4. Rescue 4 carries various equipment and monitors for mitigating and managing hazardous material incidents, technical rescues, and vehicle extrication. The Rescue is also equipped with a water tank, pump, and advanced life support medical equipment. Truck 4 is outfitted with a 100-foot areal platform ladder, water tank and pump, technical rescue equipment, and vehicle extrication equipment. Stored at Station 4 is our technical rescue and hazmat trailer for larger or more complicated technical rescues or hazmat operations.
